It?s so
important in this day and age to make a difference in our community by
volunteering or just lending a helping hand to those in need. Here at Bruce Titus Tacoma Subaru we
encourage each employee to donate an hour of time each month to help make a
difference! We want the Greater Pierce County including Tacoma, Fife, Gig Harbor, Auburn, Kent, Puyallup, and Lakewood to know that they can count on us and we?re here for
them! Here at Tacoma Subaru we are Actively Involved with the Following Foundations:
Read 2 Me came from the merging of two
organizations: Werlin Reading Teams Foundation and Pierce County Reading
Foundation. Together Read 2 Me has become a program which strives to enrich lives by
inspiring people to volunteer and share in the joy of reading. Read 2 Me advocates for
and create opportunities, beginning at birth, which nurture lifelong learners in
the communities we serve.
Since its inception, Read 2 Me has helped over 8,500 children, utilizes
nearly 1000 community volunteers on an annual basis and has expanded to nearly
half of all elementary schools in Tacoma. Over the next twelve months, Read 2
Me will expand into schools in greater Pierce County.
It is amazing how spending just 45 minutes a
week with a child can change their lives so
profoundly. The time that
Read 2 Me volunteers and the Tacoma Subaru team give these students is
the little extra nudge they need to go from
struggling with letters to reading books in just
one school year.
For most of them, it is a chance at a better
future. For all of us, it is a chance to give back to our Tacoma Community.
The Humane Society envisions a community
where every pet has a permanent and loving
home, every companion animal is spayed or
neutered and all pets are treated with respect
and compassion.
The Humane Society open their doors to tens of thousands of homeless pets every year and find homes for more animals than any other shelter in the state of Washington.
Behind
their mission is a vision of a community where animals are treated with
respect, every pet has a permanent and loving home, and companion
animals are spayed or neutered.
